Who is Jeff Henry?
Jeff Henry has been a Waterloo resident for eleven years. He has degrees in both computer engineering and political science from the University of Waterloo. Jeff understands technical issues, but he also understands the people who are affected by them. He knows how decisions get made and understands how to get things done. Jeff is knowledgeable about two of the most important defining characteristics of Waterloo: its innovative technology and its exceptional people.
Jeff has graduated from the Leadership Waterloo Region program, an acclaimed program that helps to train and connect community-minded local leaders. Jeff’s participation in the Leadership Waterloo Region program provided him with a window on community issues from poverty to good governance, from creativity to diversity. He is also Vice President of Canadian Mental Health Association’s Grand River Branch, where he has provided leadership on strategic planning, good governance, and community collaboration. Jeff works at the University of Waterloo as the Academic Integrity Officer in the Faculty of Mathematics, where he enforces the university community’s expectations with students while helping them find the honest and ethical path in their professional work.
Jeff and his partner Kate, a life-long resident of Waterloo, are planning on raising a family in this community. They know that a prosperous, safe, and inclusive community is what will ensure that Waterloo is not just a good place to raise a child but the best place to live for all its citizens.
