Beechwood Community Pools and Tennis Courts

The community resources available in Beechwood are unique in the City, but many are under financial stress. I believe that helping associations share ideas and navigate City Hall as they build consensus on creative solutions is the best way I can help as your City Councillor.

Many residents of Beechwood live in neighbourhoods that have benefited from the pools and tennis courts that dot the landscape and that have helped parents come together and their children make friends in safe places to play and grow. Unfortunately, many homeowners’ associations are facing challenges in keeping these facilities up and running and are in need of solutions.

As we saw in Beechwood II, where a neighbourhood takes concerted action to find a broad agreement about the solution, the City needs to play a role in supporting the community.

Each association is different, but I believe that their city councillor needs to be supportive in helping these associations find creative solutions to their challenges. In particular, I will commit to helping these associations talk to and learn from each other, and to helping them navigate City Hall to bring their own creative solutions to bear.
